 Jessica Tush, a 19-year-old from Staten Island, had been missing for two days when her body was discovered in the Pine Barrens in Southern New Jersey. Egan-Chin/News Parents Victor and Dina Tush, at their Staten Island home, hope cops catch killer of daughter Jessica, whose body was found in New Jersey. Racked with grief, a heartbroken Staten Island mom raged Friday at the monster who strangled 19-year-old Jessica Tush - and buried her body in a shallow grave in New Jersey. "I hope they catch him and he suffers," Dina Tush said, leaning on her husband, Victor, for support. "He took part of our heart and that can never be fixed." The young woman's estranged boyfriend, Thomas Paolino, was arrested Friday night in connection with the murder, police said. The 19-year-old suspect spit at a reporter as he was being moved to the 120th Precinct just after midnight today. He was stone-faced and handcuffed, and wore a white paper suit and booties over his clothing. He said nothing. While the grieving mother did not mention Paolino by name, police sources told the Daily News that several days before Tush vanished she came home with bruises on her arms and neck - and told her mom Paolino roughed her up. Tush did not file a police report until after her daughter failed to come home Wednesday night or show up for work at the Staten Island Mall Thursday. "My daughter wouldn't get into a car or go anywhere with someone she didn't know," Dina Tush said, tears cascading down her face. "She was responsible. She always felt she could handle herself." As her neighbors - many with tears in their eyes - looked on, Tush said, "You can't replace your baby" while mourning her "beautiful girl." "No one should have to bury their child," she said, standing in front of her attached home in Bay Terrace. "She didn't do drugs or drink. She had a clean life. She didn't party." "She had her whole future in front of her," Victor Tush said when his wife could speak no more. "She was a baby. She was only 19 years old." Paolino's lawyer said his client didn't kill Tush. "This kid is innocent," lawyer Joseph Sorrentino said. "The cops are conducting an investigation and have applied for warrants and court orders for evidence. The sooner they get the forensics, the sooner he will be exonerated " A law enforcement source said Paolino was "cooperative" and "denied having anything to do with" the murder. Investigators want to search his house and car and take a DNA sample from under his nails. Tush had strangulation marks on her neck. Cops don't know where she was killed. A popular former Wagner High School cheerleader who studied fashion design at Katharine Gibbs School, Tush was last seen around 2 p.m. Wednesday when she left BCBG's, the clothing store where she worked. Tush was to attend the funeral of a friend, 19-year-old Andrew (A.J.) Clark, who was killed in a car crash last week.
